山と海 – Mountains and Seas
Long ago, there were no boundaries between the human body and the earth.
Mountains were bones, rivers were veins, and islands were the resting places of souls.
The Nine-Tailed Fox danced light-footed across peaks, her feathers slicing the morning mist.
The Sea God lay dormant in the deep blue, waves singing ancient hymns.
Queen Mother of the West was once a magical forest princess, listening to the sky’s secrets under moonlight, living with beasts and spirits.
Giants chased the sun, headless warriors brandished their swords, and wizards chanted spells to forge stones that patched the sky.
In that world, gods, beasts, and humans shared the same realm.
Trees reached out to touch the heavens, the earth beat with a fiery heart.
Every mountain and river had its voice.
Every star, every drop of dew, held a living memory.
On the edge of a cloud, by the shimmer of a wave,
a traveler picks up a shard of pottery etched with the totem of an ancient mythical beast.
As he traces the clay with his fingers, feeling its warmth, the wind whispers by his ear.
Something stirs.
An ancient soul murmurs:
“Come back. This is your mountain, your sea—your body, your soul’s returning place.”
